From December 8th to 17th, another edition of the Innovation Camp took place, this time in online format.

The program is the result of a partnership between ADP Brazil Labs and the NGO Junior Achievement RS, as part of the social actions developed by the “Ser” BRG (Business Resource Groups).

The actions of our BRG’s aim to invest in projects that seek to meet the challenges of our business, and “Ser” seeks to solve these challenges through social work.

As volunteer work is one of the pillars of “Ser”, six associates from ADP Brazil Labs donated their time and knowledge as mentors to a group of young people, in order to teach them about the world of entrepreneurship.

As part of a final project, the students were divided into groups, with the challenge of creating solutions to the following problem: “How to increase the inclusion of women in technology careers?”.

At the end of the program, the projects were evaluated by a panel of judges and the three best solutions received awards. The first place was given to the group “Women Up”, that solved the problem by creating an app that connects women from all over the world, so they can exchange knowlodge, help and support each other with the difficulties that come with the proffesion, as well as creating a trusting place for them to keep growing in numbers.

Jessica Schmidt, an ADP Brazil Labs associated, was the mentor behind this group. Being the only woman in the team of mentors, we all considered her winning a meaninful achievement to the cause. When asked about the result, she couldn’t help being happy and proud of her group and also herself.

She shared with us that “participating as a volunteer representing Labs was very rewarding. Seeing that young people are giving real importance to social issues, made me have more hope for a better future for Brazil!”. Well deserved, Jessica!

Here at ADP, associates can get involved in various BRG’s and causes to influence the business, develop their careers and make a difference in society! Here we #WorkHappy
